Sambok is the three hottest days in Korea. Sambok includes Chobok (16th of July), Jungbok (26th of July) and Malbok (15th of August).

During the Sambok, we enjoy healthy and hearty foods to overcome the hot weather. Samgyetang, Chicken Ginseng Soup, is the most popular sambok food. How about trying to make Samgyetang this summer?

2 Whole chickens (500g)
6 Stalks of scallion
4 Cloves of garlic
4 Jujubes
4 Chestnuts
2 Ginseng roots
1 Cup glutinous rice

150g Glutinous rice
1.6L Water
1 Dried red pepper
Ginger

Perilla seed powder (optional)

15g Fiddlehead Fern
2 Shiitake Mushroom
60g Bean Sprout
40g Ginger
