Sambok is the three hottest days in Korea. Sambok includes Chobok (16th of July), Jungbok (26th of July) and Malbok (15th of August)


Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup)

During the Sambok, we enjoy healthy and hearty foods to overcome the hot weather. Samgyetang, Chicken Ginseng Soup, is the most popular sambok food. How about trying to make Samgyetang this summer?

Ingredients 

* 2 Servings
   2  Whole chickens (500g)
   6  Stalks of scallion
   4  Cloves of garlic
   4  Jujubes
   4  Chestnuts
   2  Ginseng roots
  1  Cup glutinous rice
      Salt & black pepper


Ori-susam-tang (Duck Soup with Fresh Ginseng)

Did you enjoy a healthy meal on Chobok (16th of July)?  In Korea, we have many healthy ingredients, but today, we are going to make duck soup with fresh ginseng for Jungbok. If you forgot to have an especially healthy dish on Chobok, try this delicious duck soup!

Ingredients 

* 2 Servings
   2  Duck legs
   2  Fresh ginseng
   6  Jujubes
   1  Stalks of scallion
   6  Cloves of garlic
   150g  Glutinous rice
   1.6L Water
   1  Dried red pepper
       Ginger
       Salt & black pepper
      Perilla seed powder (optional)


Heugyeomso Tang (Black Goat Soup)

Ingredients 

* 2 Servings
   2  Goat meat
   2  Fresh ginseng
   1/2 Onion
   2  Stalks of scallion
   6  Cloves of garlic
   15g Fiddlehead Fern
   2 Shiitake Mushroom 
   60g Bean Sprout
   40g Ginger
   2.8L Water
   1/4cup Rice Wine
   2TS Red Pepper powder
   2TS Cooking Oil
   1TS Soy sauce
   1TS Sesame Seed Oil
        Salt & black pepper
