About the Speakers: Alvin Chang

Alvin Chang is a graphic reporter at the Noted, a news and culture magazine from The Wall Street Journal. He also teaches data visualization at the New School in New York. Alvin enjoys covering how small decisions accrue into invisible problems that lead to segregation, discrimination, and ultimately dehumanization. And he makes those things visible using data visualization, interactives, cartoons, and videos. Previously, Alvin worked at Vox, ESPN, and the Boston Globe. Alvin’s works were featured in the Best American Infographics, the Education Writers Association, Society of News Design, and the Online News Association.

K- New Leaders Program

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 K-New Leaders program has returned in virtual format so that everyone can enjoy the talk program safely at home. The K NewLeaders program was launched last year to create a platform for the next generations of leaders and like minded community members who support cultural exchange. The program supports young professionals and students to enhance their capacity through cultural arts programs, mentoring, lectures, and networking opportunities.
