Mama O’s Kimchi, Made in Brooklyn, New York
Kimchi is inseparable from the culture - and dining tables - of the Korean people.
But in the US, kimchi used to be nearly impossible to find at grocery stores, and especially if you didn’t have access to a specialty store or lived in a metropolitan area, you could be finding yourself driving hours just to purchase it!
But nowadays, kimchi can be readily found at local supermarkets; Whole Foods Markets, Target, and Walmart just to name a few. Korean American entrepreneurs who were aware of the US market, played key roles in localization and expansion on kimchi.
In this <K-New Leaders> program, we will explore the life and story of Kheedim Oh, who has launched a Kimchi brand based in Brooklyn, New York.
