Sweet, sweet summer time - a time for ice cold treats to beat the heat! Ice cream, popsicles, and slushies! What about Patbingsu? Have you ever tried it? Patbingsu is a Korean shaved ice dessert with toppings that can include chopped fruits, syrup, and pat (red bean). It’s a very popular Korean dessert, but no one seems to know the true origin of it.Who made it first? When and how was it made?
We will read the story “The Legend of Patbingsu” and find out how we have this delicious shaved ice dessert we enjoy today. Also, we are going to learn the names of ingredients for Patbingsu in Korean and have fun craft time too!
Storytime is a program for parents/caregivers and their children. The parent/caregiver is suggested to be present during the entire program.
<Korean Storytime> is an online education program by the Korean Cultural Center New York and New York Public Library, St. Agnes. It deals with diverse themed stories every month in Korean and English.
