Theme: Korean Lunar New Year
Join us for a live online program with songs, rhymes, and favorite read-aloud books in Korean and English as we show you how storytime is fun for the whole family! Open to children of all ages!
Recommended for ages 3~7, but all are welcome.
No knowledge of Korean required.
Let’s play and learn Korean!
Have you heard about 설날 Seollal, the Korean Lunar New Year? Here is one little girl sharing the traditions of Seollal with her friends at school. She shows her 한복 hanbok to classmates, demonstrates how to do 세배 sebae and play Korean traditional games such as 윷놀이 yut-nori, and introduces delicious 떡국 tteokguk. Shall we join her class and learn all the fun things about Seollal?
We will read a picture book titled <Tomorrow Is New Year’s Day> to learn Korean words related to Seollal and make a lucky back called 복주머니 bokjumoni together!
<Korean Storytime> is an online education program by the Korean Cultural Center New York and New York Public Library, St. Agnes. It deals with diverse themed stories every month in Korean and English.
