The association of Korean Cultural Service New York and KAFFNY presents the 5th annual Korean American Film Festival.

Over 40 films to play at KAFFNY 2011, Thursday to Sunday, 3/17-20 at Chelsea Clearview Cinemas and White Box/Big Screen Project, including the first ever Dai Sil Kim-Gibson Retrospective, the first ultra-HD time-lapse film psychohydrography, and a North Korea double feature. Our closing film is the Korea/Japan co-production, The Boat by Young-nam Kim, starring Ha Jung Woo and Satoshi Tsumabuki.

Special Events include: Opening Night - Opening reception + Madame Freedom (Korea, 1956) live rescore with DJ Spooky, Okkyung Lee and Sean Lee + psychohydrography by Peter Bo Rappmund; LA Riots 19 Years Later, discussion with Dai Sil Kim-Gibson, Charles Burnett and Mrs. Jung Hui Lee (main subject in Sa-I-Gu), and KAFFNY Talks.
