Classic Korean Cinema presents Road

Life on the road wasn't easy for a traditional blacksmith in 1970's Korea. Aging Tae-suk is a blacksmith with vagrant habits, moving from one local market to another for over 20 years. One day on the road, he comes upon a young girl Shin-young who is heading for her father’s funeral. Tae-suk soon finds out she is the daughter of his old friend Duk-soo, who had ruined Tae-suk’s life taking his fortune and beloved wife long ago. Memories from 20 years earlier surface as Tae-suk and Shin-young continue towards their destinations. At the funeral of Duk-soo, a long mistaken truth is revealed.

This film is presented in Korean with English subtitles.
Film Curator Ms. Hyun-Ock Im will introduce the program and lead a discussion after the screening.
