The Korean Cultural Center New York proudly presents New Korean Movie Night, a regular screening series showcasing a diverse range of Korean and Korean American films, including short films, documentaries, and independent productions. This initiative is dedicated to supporting emerging filmmakers while enhancing accessibility and appreciation for Korean cinema in New York City.

As part of this ongoing series, this screening showcases a dynamic range of exploring emotions, friendships, love, identity, relationships, and personal growth. Among them is Love In The Big City (대도시의 사랑법), a powerful South Korean romance-drama directed by E.oni. Released in 2024, the film dives into themes of vulnerability, acceptance, and human connection, reflecting the raw, emotional landscape of modern love and personal struggle.

Through New Korean Movie Night, the Korean Cultural Center New York aims to further engage local audiences with Korean cinema by offering a variety of programs. The initiative also seeks to provide a platform for more Korean filmmakers to expand their presence in New York.

Synopsis

Biography 

Director E.oni has proven her versatility across various genres, starting with the emotional romance <...ing>, to <Missing>, a mystery that follows the search for a missing nanny and a child, and the comedic detective story <The Accidental Detective 2: In Action>. She returns to the big screen with <Love in the Big City>, an engaging story full of unique charm and chemistry about two young adults with opposing views on love, living together.
