AN HANKUK : World peace
April 7 - April 25, 2008
Gallery Korea of the Korean Cultural Service New York
Opening Reception: Monday, April 7, 2008 6-8 pm
Special exhibition of Korean calligrapher Han Hankuk.
Han's works are known for their symbol of peace keeping and
this exhibition will be a rare treat for New Yorkers
to have a glimpse of art works/maps created with the Korean alphabet.
Han's extraordinarily large scale ink paintings including the largest map
of the Korean peninsula-composed of thousands of letters,
taking over five years to complete-are one of the first of its kind to
exquisitely combine Korean alphabet and world maps.
