Choong-Jin Chang joined The Philadelphia Orchestra in 1994 and became principal viola in 2006. The list of distinguished musicians with whom he has collaborated includes Emmanuel Ax, Yefim Bronfman, Jaime Laredo, Andre Previn, Mstislav Rostropovich, and Yo-Yo Ma.
Daejin Kim has emerged as one of the most extraordinary pianists from Korea. The New York Times reviewed his concert as “Daejin Kim demonstrated all the accouterments necessary for a successful solo career... This is a fine musician, one with the physical means to express his considerable musical intelligence.” He has also become a leading example of that rare individual who is able to successfully combine the demanding careers of a concert artist and teacher. Mr. Kim holds Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees from The Juilliard School.
The program includes the works of Schumann’s Marchenbilder for Viola and Piano, Hindemith’s Sonata for Solo Viola Op. 25 No. 1, and more.
