duoconcert.jpgDistinguished Cellist (Young Song) and one of the most in-demand American guitarists (Jason Vieaux) present a wonderful duo concert together. Mr. Song has performed to critical acclaim as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Korea as well as cities in many countries. He has collaborated with distinguished musicians including Kyung-Hwa Chung, Arto Noras, Christian Zacharias, Frans Helmerson, Chee-Yun Kim and Jason Vieaux. Moreover, he has played at festivals and major concert venues throughout the world, receiving the Korean Presidential Award and serving as the Cultural Ambassador to Korea in 2001-2002.
Jason Vieaux, who performs with Mr. Song, is the youngest First Prize winner in the history of the prestigious GFA International Guitar Competition, a Naumburg International Guitar Competition prizewinner, and a recipient of The Cleveland Institute of Music's Alumni Achievement Award. Mr. Vieaux’ Sevilla: The Music of Isaac Albeniz was rated one of the Top Ten Classical CDs of 2003 by The Philadelphia Inquirer and Cleveland’s Plain Dealer. Mr. Vieaux's recordings and live performances are broadcast nationally on the radio and worldwide via the Internet, and he is featured regularly on NPR programs: "Performance Today", "All Things Considered" and "Morning Edition".
The program includes the Brazilian influenced works of Antonia Carlos Jobim, Sergio Assad, Jaime Zenamon, Radames Gnattali, and more.
