SSOOT: Young Soon Kim 30th Anniversary Season at the DTW

Young Soon Kim and WHITE WAVE will celebrate Ms. Kim's 30th Anniversary of dance in New York with the world premiere of SSOOT at Dance Theater Workshop. This full evening length work choreographed by Young Soon Kim features an original score by renowned Korean composers Ki Young Kim and Dae Soo Hahn.

SSOOT takes its name from a Korean word, which literally translates as charcoal in English but is also used colloquially to mean fresh energy. This three-part 90-minute piece for eighteen performers expresses the inner conflict of humans mesmerized by the world’s sorrow and its undeniable beauty.
