Korea 21: Music Here and Now
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea in collaboration with the Gugak FM and the Korean Traditional Performing Arts Association (KTPAA) presents "Korea 21: Music Here and Now." The event will feature young talented Korean traditional musicians who have won the 21C Korean Music Project Competition in Korea. The artists such as Bulsaechul, Irene, and Project "Rock" will present the contemporary interpretation of Sinawi (an improvised Korean traditional music performance) as well as hybrid music between the Korean Traditional musical instruments and Western musical instruments based on artistic value and diversity from Korean Traditional Music. A renowned geomungo player and 2007-2008 Asian Cultural Council Fellowship recipient, Yoon-Jeong Heo and her friends will perform as special guests.
