Asian Jazz Fusion Concert with the Jeff Fairbanks Jazz Orchestra
Young up-and-coming Queens-based jazz composer and trombonist Jeff Fairbanks (recipient of BMI Foundation’s Charlie Parker Composition Prize and the ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award) and his 17-piece big band play Fairbank’s original jazz compositions with Korean and Chinese influences. This unique cross-cultural concert will feature Korean musicians Ra-Mi Seo (gayageum), Yo-Seon Yoo (Janggu), and Yeong-Joo Jang (Korean dance) as well.
