Mona Lisa Puzzle CD Release Party: Hey Rim Jeon
When she moved to United States from her native Korea in 1997, Hey Rim Jeon was an advanced classical pianist. With the aid of Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory, both based in Boston, she's since become a dazzling jazz player, as well. Jeon studied with JoAnne Brackeen at Berklee, where she received the Prestigious "Piano Chair" award, and earned her master's degree at NEC after studying with Ran Blake and George Garzone. In her new album called Mona Lisa Puzzle, jazz and classical influences interwine with the help of saxophonist Dave Liebman, bassist James Genus, drummer Terri Lyne Carrington and percussionist Richie Barshay.
“Hey Rim Jeon’s newest, Mona Lisa Puzzle, shows off her excellent skills as a composer. Can’t go wrong with the star studded bandmates who bring her compositions to a high level.”
