World Piano Competition 2008 Gold Medalist Yoon Jung Han Debut Solo Recital

Yoonjung Han, Gold medalist at the 2008 World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, will make her debut solo recital at Alice Tully Hall. She will be playing part of her Gold Medalist award recital.
Han has also won First Prize at the Gina Bachauer Competition at Juilliard. In addition to gold medals at the Kosciuszko Chopin Competition, the Nena Wideman Piano Competition, and the Korea National Music Competition, she also garnered major prizes at the Helsinki Maj Lind International Piano Competition and Milan Concorso Pianistico Ettore Pozzoli Internaziole where she competed as the youngest pianist. Han was named the “Most Promising Young Artist” by the Korean Ministry of Culture and has since performed worldwide having appearing in major cities throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe. Han has recently performed as a soloist with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Helsinki Philharmonic, Houston Symphony, Banff Festival Orchestra, and I Pomeriggi Musicali di Milan, under such maestros as Joann Faletta and Leif Segerstam.
The program includes Haydn’s Sonata in E flat Major Hob. 52, Chopin’s Sonata in b minor Op. 58, Granados’s Los requiebros and El amor y la muerte (both from Goyescos), and Schumann’s Carnival.
