Korea Music Foundation presents the Korean Symphony Orchestra (KSO)’s concert at the Carnegie Hall to celebrate KSO’s 25th anniversary. Led by the renowned artistic director and conductor, Eunseong Park, KSO is one of the top orchestras in Korea and works as a residence orchestra for the prestigious Seoul Arts Centre. Since 1987, the orchestra has become a partner of the Korean National Opera, the National Ballet and the National Choir and they perform about 90 concerts including regular concerts, youth concerts, and opera and ballet performances.

Maestro Park graduated from College of Music, Seoul National University, studied conducting at Vienna University, and was the first-ever Korean musician to receive a conducting diploma from this prestigious institution. He has been performing actively on many international stages, including those in Austria, United States, Czech, Hungary, and Japan while conducting regular concerts staged by major symphony orchestras in Korea. Maestro Park also conducted a concert in Pyongyang which was the first concert in North Korea for a South Korean conductor. Maestro Park has been serving as a professor at college of music, Hanyang University since 1993.

The program includes Brahms’s Violin Concerto in D major, op.77, Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No 2. E minor, op.27 and Korean composer, Soonjung Suh’s Yu Hyun.
