Sounds of Korea: A Journey through Time

The Korean Performing Arts Center (KTPAA) proudly presents its 17th Annual Concert, Sounds of Korea: A Journey through Time. The concert will introduce the Korean Buddhist Monk Dance, seumgmu, performed by two of the most distinguished Korean dance masters, Sue Yeon Park and Song Hee Lee. The concert will also feature some of the most vibrant Korean traditional chamber music pieces, including cheonyeon manse (Korean Court music), geomungo sanjo (solo improvisational genre), folk songs and darangshi, a new composition by renowned composer, Dae Sung Kim. This concert will demonstrate an array of mystical sounds of Korea, connecting the old and the new.
The Korean Performing Arts Center is dedicated to traditional and contemporary Korean music and dance as a home for teaching, performance and outreach. The center promotes global understanding and appreciation of Korea’s artistic heritage to contemporary American society.
