"Pa-mun: Ripples on Water" Klara Min plays Korean Piano Music

Korean Cultural Services New York will proudly announce the release of award-winning pianist Klara Min’s latest CD Pa Mun: Ripples on Water (Korean Piano Music). The new CD contains a wide variety of music composed by five leading Korean composers Uzong Chae, Isang Yun, Younghi Pagh-Paan, Sukhi Kang, and Chung Gil Kim.
Ms. Min’s first progress to fame as a pianist started when she began to take piano lesson with her composer mother in Seoul. Her continuous education in music led her to earn the grand opportunities to perform in North America, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy and her native South Korea and in venues as New York’s Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonie Hall in Berlin and KBS Broadcast System hall in Seoul. Ms. Min made her Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Debut in 2002 as a winner of the Artists International Competition in New York, performing piano etudes by Korean composer Unsuk Chin.
Recent performance highlights include performances of Schumann Concerto in A minor with Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra in Alaska, Beethoven First Piano Concerto with Das Symphonieorchestre at Berlin Philharmonie Hall, Mozart Piano Concerto in D minor K466 with Munich Kammerphilharmonie in Germany and Liszt Concerto in A major with Armenian Philharmonic. In the 2011-2012 season, Ms. Min will give a solo recital at the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts Series in Chicago to be live broadcast on WFMT radio station.
