JEFF FAIRBANKS' PROJECT HANSORI
An exciting new sound of Asian folk music mixed with modern Jazz, 17-piece Jeff Fairbanks' Project Hansori performs the all original music of its leader. An in-demand composer and performer, and a recognized talent, Fairbanks has won national awards and recognition from ASCAP, BMI, IAJE, and numerous competitive grants from the American Music Center and the Queens Council on the Arts. Here we will celebrate the release of Project Hansori's debut recording, Mulberry Street, on the Brooklyn Jazz Underground Records label. Featuring a cast of 22 musicians including guest bari saxophonist Fred Ho, this album of Fairbanks' original compositions and arrangements fuses East and West in an imaginative new setting. Mulberry Street will be for available for purchase at the concert.

RAMI SEO
Special guest Rami Seo, accomplished gayakeum artist, was born in Seoul, Korea and is the protégé of world class maestros and several of Korea’s most revered National Cultural Living Treasure title-holders. Winner of multiple performing arts competitions, Ms. Seo has graced many renowned stages throughout the United States, Korea, China, Panama, Nicaragua and Japan. Major performances include the National Grand Theater of Korea, Korean Traditional Orchestra of Seoul, Korean National Orchestra for Traditional Music, Ureuk Orchestra, 1988 Seoul Olympics Anniversary Commemoration, Yo Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project, Korea 35, Merkin Concert Hall, Symphony Space, Avery Fisher Hall (Lincoln Center), United Nations, Korea Society, Asia Society, National Folk Festival, and the American Festival of Microtonal Music. To date, she has released several albums and singles including First Morning, Fallen Leaves, and Kaya Song. Ms. Seo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Korean Traditional Music and Music Education Chung-Ang University, with an impending Master’s Degree in Ethnomusicology from Hunter College. She will be joined variously by Stephanie Yoon and Sarah Yoon on gayageum, and Heun Choi Fairbanks on cello.
RESONANCE (Pre-concert Art Exhibit 6:30-7:45pm in lobby)
Visual Art Exhibition curated by artist Jin Hwan Cho. Complimenting the musical performance, a diverse group of Queens contemporary visual artists curated by Jin Hwan Cho present an exhibition of their selected works. This pre-concert exhibition will take place in the Little Theater lobby from 6:30-7:45pm, with refreshments and remarks by Jin Hwan Cho and Jeff Fairbanks. Participating Artists: Caroline M. Sun, Jin Hwan Cho, Sook Hyang Baik, Youngsam Kim, Nancy Rakoczy, Jay Moorthy
