Jazz vocalist Sunny Kim’s ‘Painter’s Eye’

Based on poetry by Korean traditional painter Sun Doo Kim (Professor of Korean Painting at Joong Ang University, works with film director Im Kwon Taek), ‘Painter's Eye’, Sunny Kim’s latest recording, brings together poetry, Korean contemporary classical painting and contemporary music.
Vocalist, pianist, and composer Sunny Kim is a native of South Korea. Her vocal improvisation style and experiments with electronics gained her recognition in recent years in the US as well as abroad. Since her arrival in the US in 1998, Kim’s career has included work with Roswell Rudd, Pheeroan AkLaff, Ran Blake, Michael Cain, and Min Xiao Fen to name a few.
