Produced by the Center for Traditional Music and Dance (CTMD), ‘The World from the Streets of New York’ is an annual series of showcases highlighting artists from around the world yet living in the five boroughs of New York City, presented in conjunction with the APAP conference, a global performing arts market. This year’s event will feature dance traditions and master artists from around the world, spotlighting the countries of Korea, Mexico and Brazil with ensembles Sounds of Korea (led by Sue Park), Calpulli Mexican Dance Company and Ologundê, respectively. Showcases are open to the public, but only registered APAP attendees with a conference badge and RSVP are allowed priority seating. Reception and artist meet and greet to follow the show.
