THE GREENWICH VILLAGE ORCHESTRA, a non-profit community orchestra with talented players, emotionally charged performances and stellar musical guests, presents an exciting all-German romantic program. This concert features violinist HYE-JIN KIM on Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy. Accolades for Kim, a native of Seoul, Korea, include winner of the 2009 Concert Artists Guild International Competition and first prize at the 2004 Yehudi Menuhin International Competition. The magazine The Strad lauded her “…heart-stopping, unrivaled beauty … supremely musical playing, well-thought out, yet of the moment.” She’s currently an assistant professor of violin at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and serves on faculty at Bard College Conservatory of Music Preparatory Division. Other pieces performed will be Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 and Wagner’s Overture to Die Meistersinger.
Admission to the concert is by suggested donation only: Adults, $15, Students/seniors: $10.
