The 1st “Myong In Yuol Jeon” presented by The Korean Traditional Music Association of America (KTMAA), under charge of chairwoman Gap Sun Um, is a concert featuring exceptional artists: Kyung Man Choi, Heung Dong Choi, Young Jae Shin, Mukyung Kim and Jang Hyun Won. These artists are truly the masters of masters and are acclaimed human cultural assets holding Intangible Culture Heritage Properties of Korea. This concert also holds many prominent artists, masters and top members of highly acknowledgeable art companies and institutions of New York. Gap Sun Um, Myeong Soon Choi and 11 of these artists will be presenting Sogo Dance and Group Salpuri (one of the best representatives of folk dance). Additionally, the New York Korean Traditional Marching Band will be leading percussion ensembles of Korea by performing Samulnori. The show aims to bring festive joy and happiness to Korean-American’s as well as the mainstream American society. In addition to containing the finest virtuosos, the show will also display highly aesthetic art pieces.
