Korea Cultural Service New York Presents
Ensemble Mise-en is an innovative and versatile New York-based contemporary music collective led by composer Moon Young HA. With over twenty five of New York’s most talented musicians, the ensemble strives to bring a repetoire of challenging, new sounds to diverse audiences, imparting an experience that is simultaneously multi-cultural, intellecturally stimulating, and aesthetically pleasing. From June 19th to 22nd, Ensemble Mise-en will hold its inaugural Mise-en music festival 2014 in NYC featuring an array of workshops and presentations along with multiple concerts. Korean Cultural Service NY is thrilled to present the first concert, and will feature the works of six talented young Korean composers: Su Lee, SukJu Na, Gideon Gee-Bum Kim, Kyoung Mee Choi, Jaeseong You and Sung-Ji Hong. All six compositions were selected from international call for scores (862 submissions by 702 composers from 65 different countries). This concert will provide a special opportunity for audience members to hear cutting edge Korean contemporary music.
