Lecture / Workshop / Dance Performance / Q&A
Open to public, R.S.V.P required

This program is organized by East Rock Institute, the oldest non-profit organization dedicated to Korean and Korean Diaspora culture, in collaboration with the Korean Community Center of Engelwood, NJ, and their multi-city based Korean Artistic director, Dr. Hyunju Lee. The event also includes special guest artist and teacher of Laban movement, Cheryl Clark, CMA, BA, as well as another noted Korean Dance performer, Young Eun Chiara Kim CMA, BA. This stimulating and unusual use of Western theory to analyze Korean art and culture specifically opens pathways of cultural understanding that is both unique to Korean dance as well to better global understanding and cultural competency. This combined presentation of Korean dance through lecture, workshop, and performance is expected to enhance Korea’s image in a new and special way and to increase the visibility of Korean culture.

This free event is assisted by students from Ewha Woman’s University, Department of International Business Administration to East Rock Institute’s 10th annual global leadership program.
