Jung-Pyo is well-known for her versatile crossover projects, which blend traditional Korean music into contemporary music. She is not only a Gayageum (traditional Korean stringed instrument) player and singer-songwriter, her original compositions were also played on mainstream movies and TV programs such as "Old Miss Diary(올드 미스 다이어리)", KBS "The Kingdom Of The Winds 바람의 나라" and "Full House 풀하우스". Jung-Pyo has also performed with popular K-Pop artists including LeeSSang and Kim Jong Kook.
This event is her first appearance in New York City. After being selected as ARKO (Arts Council of Korea) Young Art Frontier (AYAF) musician, Jung-Pyo has been granted the opportunity to perform overseas to present her unique music style. For this special event, Linda Oh, who is one of the leading jazz bassist of her generation, is re-arranging Jung-Pyo's original tunes to add NYC and world-music vibe into the pieces. For the session of the night Alex Brown will be on the piano/Keyboards and Jake Goldbas on percussion.
