Korean baritone Claudio Jung performs opera arias, European songs, Korean lyric songs, and folk songs in this first performance of his recital tour, Jeju Haenyeo Korea – US Recital Tour. Jeju Haenyeo (“sea women”) is a term that refers to female divers in the unique traditional culture of South Korea’s Jeju Island. In November 2016, UNESCO will decide whether or not to include Jeju Haenyeo on its Intangible Cultural Heritage list. In honor of this, Jung will premiere the song “Jeju Haenyeo – Life in the Sea”.
