Dooyi, Yoon Sook Park's name is synonymous with Korean traditional arts in New York City, having established KTMDC over 30 years ago. Before immigrating to the US from Korea, she spent over 25 years studying the gayageum (Korean zither), Pansori (Korean opera), and traditional Korean dance with many of Korea’s leading artists. Her expertise lies in the style of the late gayageum master, Yoo, Dae Bong (1925~1974). The recital will be presenting her unique, singular path as a musician and educator for the past three decades in the U.S., preserving her master instructor’s distinctively masculine style of the Gayageum Sanjo, rare even in Korea.

The Recital will highlight Yoon Sook Park's Gayageum Sanjo, Korea's leading dance figure Young Shim Kwon's Seung-Mu (Buddhist monk dance), and Yoon Sook Park’s daughter Yusun Kang's Gayageum Sanjo Dance.
