Korean Masters of Traditional & Contemporary Music
This rare concert presents Korean sanjo (instrumental solo genre) and pansori (epic sung drama) featuring some of the most celebrated masters and artists from South Korea.
This event highlights the contemporary developments of these two significant genres showing the beauty and aesthetic of Korean antiquity linked with modern sensibilities. Sue-Yeon Park, Korean dance master and a 2008 National Heritage Fellow, joins in performing the utmost spiritual shaman ritual music, sinawi.
