BLACK STRING with Marty Ehrlich, Gregor Huebner, Jonathan Goldberg, and Satoshi Takeishi
Internationally acclaimed Korean ensemble Black String (Yoon Jeong Heo, geomungo; Jean Oh, electric guitar; Aram Lee, daegeum; and Min Wang Hwang, janggu & vocals) joins forces with a roster of New York City luminaries for an evening of intense cross-cultural improvisation. Featuring an array of contemporary Western instruments alongside traditional Korean ones, Black String fearlessly melds music of the past and present into an intoxicating style that has won them numerous awards and seen them featured on platforms around Asia, Europe, and North America. Sharing the stage with them will be clarinetist Marty Ehrlich, violinist Gregor Huebner, guitarist Jonathan Goldberger, percussionist and arranger Satoshi Takeishi. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind collaborative improvisation!
