Yoojin Park Quartet will have a free show on October 27, 7pm at the National Sawdust in Brooklyn.
In the midst of all of the Asian hate crimes throughout the US, Yoojin has been inspired to hold an event that helps to bring awareness, encourage and unite the Asian community in particular. Music is a powerful aspect of the Asian community's value within New York City. The event will have resources available for anyone who needs additional support dealing with the social anxiety of going out and enjoying themselves. The music will be presented as a quartet, violin- Yoojin Park, bass- Lonnie Plaxico, drums- Allan Mednard, piano- Victor Gould and featuring Tivon Pennicott on Saxophone. She has composed several songs that consist of Asian traditional folk, classical and jazz.
