Gyehwataryeong is a folk song passed down in Seongeup area in Jeju Island, Korea.
The song was named after a gisaeng named Gyehwa Kim who appears in the first phrase. Originally, it was sung by sadangpae and pansori singers, but composer Gyeongtaek Kim rearranged the song into a fusion folk pop song. The video was filmed at Nuun oreum in Jeju.
JART is an abbreviation of Jeju Art. The JART Ensemble is a group formed by young artists based in Jeju Island who are dedicated to creating new artistic values and developing and spreading the traditional culture of Jeju Island.
