Long-time New York Times contributor Corinna da Fonseca-Wollheim’s concert-meditation series Beginner's Ear teaches audiences how to find greater depth and meaning in music by starting from a place of stillness. For the inaugural show of her new program, A Deeper Listen, she will begin by introducing the principles of focused listening.

In the ensuing calm of this mindfulness practice, the pianist Eunbi Kim will play a series of works composed for her, including the three-part contemporary classical cycle Songs for the Alone by Daniel Bernard Roumain, followed by the world premiere of Sophia Jani's "Saturn Years."

After the recital, a short conversation between host, composer, and performers will help set future intentions for further inner exploration and incite a moment of shared community.

This event is approximately 90 minutes.
