Co-presented with the Korean Cultural Center New York, the Traditional Art Society of Korea (TASK) is hosting the 22nd World Korean Traditional Art Competition. This event aims to promote Korea’s excellent traditional culture widely, discover and support talented next-generation Korean musicians living abroad, and enhance the skills of overseas Korean musicians, thereby expanding the base of traditional Korean music.

1) Registration Details

A. Period: June 1, 2024 - June 22, 2024, by 6:00 PM ET

  1. Application for the 22nd World Korean Traditional Art Competition

  2. Proof of various awards (if applicable) 

2) Eligibility 

- Open to individuals and organizations passionate about and skilled in Korean traditional music and dance. 
- Anyone learning Korean traditional music and dance can participate, regardless of age or gender. 
- All skill levels are welcome. 

3) Competition Guideline

Start Time: 10:00 AM 
Performances:

  • Korean Traditional Dance: 5 mins

  • Wind & String Instrument: 5 mins

  • Samulnori / Pungmul: 7 mins

  • Pansori / Minyo: 5 mins

Results Announcement: Same day, after competition conclusion

4) Entry Fees

Individual: $150
Small Group (2-3 people): $250
Large Group (4 or more people): $350 

* Please include all participants’ personal information (name, gender, date of birth, contact information, award history) on a separate paper for group entries.

* Contest order may be adjusted based on the number of applications.

* Submitted materials and documents will not be returned.
