On Wednesday, December 4th, at 5 PM, the Orange Roundtable will be held on the 5th floor of the Korean Cultural Center New York (KCCNY). This event features four vibrant female artists— Hayoon Jay Lee, Hyeree Ro, Jean Oh, and Hyoju Cheon—who are actively practicing in New York. They will share their diverse backgrounds and artworks, discuss how they bring artistic possibilities, and assert their identities to their works.

This event is part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Management Service’s support project for the “Translation of Korean Art Criticism.” Its goal is to foster international exchange and promote discussions and research on Korean art. The Orange Roundtable is organized by independent curator Jaeyeon Chung in collaboration with KANA (Korean Association of New York Artists). The event holds added significance by being hosted at the newly expanded and renovated KCCNY, offering a meaningful moment in this reimagined space. The Orange Roundtable aims to explore the diverse possibilities and futures of Asian female artists engaged in global artistic practice while deepening the understanding of contemporary Korean art. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences and ideas, engaging in meaningful dialogue through collaborative interactions with artists. All art enthusiasts, including students and aspiring artists, are welcome to join.

The Orange Roundtable is inspired by the color orange, symbolizing the change and energy led by female artists. Orange represents new beginnings and transformation, reflecting the artistic flow created by the four female artists. They aim to combine their artistic energies to propose new directions in the art world and play a crucial role in future artistic and social movements. The discussion will be guided by critics familiar with each artist's work. We look forward to your interest and participation.
