[Call for Applications] New York K-Pop Academy 2017 Returns!

Dates: Mon, July 31, 2017 - Sat, August 26, 2017 (Classes from Monday to Friday - 4 weeks of classes plus Final Presentation) + 2 Cultural Events (K-Beauty & K-Movie)
Time: 2 hrs/day (6:30pm-8:30pm)

Program Contents: Korean Culture (2 events), Vocal training (1st week, 2nd week), Dance training (3rd week, 4th week), Final presentation (August 26th)

The Korean Cultural Center New York is excited to present the second New York K-Pop Academy this summer! This special program will consist of an intensive 4-week program plus 2 cultural events that provides an in-depth, methodical approach to learning the two key components of K-Pop, vocal and dance skills, as well as a special cultural events to learn about Korean culture through films and K- Beauty.
Sejong University, as an institution successfully leading K-Pop education programs, has been selected again as the main responsible educational organization in partnership with this program.
50 successful applicants will be selected through an online application process and separated into two classes, where students will be provided with 4 weeks (2 hours per day - 5 days per week) of intensive training. Instructed by world-class faculty carefully selected from Korea, students will be able to develop a deep understanding of Korean culture through a fun, lively experience.
Participating students are required to attend two Korean cultural events including a K- Movie session and K- Beauty session on July 26th and July 29th respectively to acquire knowledge about Korean culture through the Korean beauty industry and Korean films. The vocal lecture provides practical training of basic vocalizations, fundamental scales, diverse rhythms and different genre expressions through hit/popular K-Pop songs. The dance session starts from stretching, the fundamentals of K-Pop dance, to expressing lyrics using sophisticated movements.
A final presentation will be held in the final week as the graduation ceremony.
