Blood Rain topped the box office in the opening week in May of 2004. Set in 1808, this historical thriller takes place on a small island, where there are series of murders and a government investigator is sent from the mainland to solve the case. This movie questions the intertwined power struggles amongst centralized government, religion, Confucius society, and advancement in technology. A tight plot and historically detailed, award-winning costumes and set designs combined with medieval violence makes this movie a roller-coaster of suspense and mystery.
