Goryeo: The Glory of Korea
December. 4, 2018 ~ March 3, 2019
Special Exhibition Gallery at the National Museum of Korea
The National Museum of Korea is holding a commemorative exhibition to mark the 1,100th anniversary of the foundation of the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392).
Goryeo culture blended the various traditions of preceding dynasties such as Balhae and Unified Silla in creating an open and cosmopolitan atmosphere with active exchanges with neighboring countries.
The celadon of Goryeo reflects how its people created cutting-edge technology of the times, and the resulting exquisite features of Goryeo Buddhist paintings and inlaid mother-of-pearl craftworks are considered top notch in artistic merit.
The exhibition will highlight the excellence of Goryeo art and the high value created in the process.
