Kun Woo Paik, piano

Kun Woo Paik is considered one of the most important pianists of his generation. Born in Seoul, he moved to New York at age 15 to study with Rosina Lhevinne at The Juilliard School. He has closely collaborated with renowned conductors including Lorin Maazel, Mariss Jansons, Sir Neville Marriner, Wolfgang Sawallisch, and James Conlon. His performances with distinguished orchestras include: the New York Philharmonic, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, London Symphony, Orchestre de Paris, Berlin Symphony and the English Chamber Orchestra.

Kun Woo Paik lives in Paris, and he is the Artistic Director of the Emerald Coast Music Festival in Dinard, France. He was made the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government (2000).

Program includes Brahms’s Klavierstucke and Beethoven’s Sonata No. 30 in E Major, Sonata No. 31 in A-flat Major, and Sonata No. 32 in C Minor.
