For the 9th consecutive year, WHITE WAVE will produce and present the annual DUMBO DANCE FESTIVAL: a four-day marathon showcase of cutting-edge contemporary dance featuring both emerging and eminent dancemakers. The 2009 DUMBO DANCE FESTIVAL, held at WHITE WAVE’s John Ryan Theater and in Brooklyn Bridge Park, will feature over 80 companies with 400 performing artists: the grand scale of the Festival, the range of artists participating and its interdisciplinary variety distinguishes the event from its peers. Featuring the freshest and most original dancemakers, audiences will be able to enjoy up to 7 different companies in each hour of programming. This year’s festival includes talented Korean dancers such as, Hee Ra Yoo (9/25), Joomin Kim (9/26), Namja/Yoja (9/26, 9/27), Song Hee Lee Dance Company (9/26), WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company (9/24, 9/25, 9/26)
All performances except the GALA will be open to the public and free of charge. Tickets for the gala benefit are $100 per person. For RSVP, contact (718) 855-8822 or visit www.whitewavedance.com.
