The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism proudly presents the third annual concert, Korea 21: Music Here and Now, in collaboration with the Gugak FM Broadcasting System in Seoul and the Korean Traditional Performing Arts Association of New York. The highlight of this event will be the select group of outstanding Korean traditional and popular music artists directly from Korea, such as the fusion vocal group, Toris, and the Instrumental Ensemble, Sinawi, which ranked in the top ten at the 2009, “21C Korean Music Project Competition” - one of the most prestigious new music competitions in South Korea. Yong Woo Kim, a leading world music vocalist in Korea known for creating “Korean vocal jazz” in combination with Korean traditional vocal idioms and the American blues, will be the special guest artist.
