Yoo & Dancers will perform two new works in NYC; Gong at Traditions in Transition Festival at 14th Street YMCA NYC and The Bessie Workshop at NYU; Catwalk at Making Moves Dance Festival at Jamaica Performing Arts Center respectively. After the recent performance of Catwalk in Hamilton, NJ, critic Barbara Figgie Fox wrote, "Design, movement, technique, emotion, suspense, it’s got it all.”

Hee Ra Yoo, originally from Kwang-Ju, Korea, is artistic director of Yoo & Dancers. Ms. Yoo has danced with the Korean National Ballet, the Kirov Ballet. Before receiving her MFA from NYU's Tisch School in 2009, she taught ballet at Tulane University in New Orleans. Yoo & Dancers thrives on synthesis and garners inspiration from the continual melding of forms and cultures. Their works come from a melting pot of movements (i.e. traditional dances from around the world, gymnastics, martial arts and classical as well as modern dance) and from an eclectic variety of unique artists.

Free admission for 14th Street YMCA NYC performance; Tickets for Jamaica Center performance are $15 / $12 (seniors and children under 12). $18 / $15 at the door.
