Founded in 1966, Yonsei Concert Choir is the pioneer of all university choirs in South Korea. Since then, the choir has been pursuing high performance standards by presenting numerous concerts in Korea and annually participating in various international stages in the USA, Japan, Germany, Spain, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and more. They won the first prize title in the Choral Competition hosted by the European Broadcasting Union in 1990 and the second prize title in the Certamen Internacional de Habaneras y La solidad Sonora Music Festival in Spain in 2010.
The program includes Bach’s ‘Furchte dich nicht, BWV 228,’ ‘Jauchzet dem Herrn, alle Welt, BWV Anh. 160,’ Jennefelt’s ‘Hosianna’ from five motets for mixed choir, Brahms’ ’Zigeunerlieder, Op. 103’ and Irish and American Folk songs such as ‘O Danny Boy’ and ‘Beautiful Dreamer.’
The choir will be led by Ms. Hye Ok Kim, the conductor of Yonsei Concert Choir and a professor at Yonsei University.
