Pianist Young-Ah Tak New York Debut Recital

“Winning combination of passion, imagination, and integrity,” raves the New York Concert Review, describing Ms. Young-Ah Tak’s pianism. Since making her New York debut in the Lincoln Center with the Juilliard Symphony, Ms. Tak has performed in the United States, Canada, Austria, Germany, Italy, Korea, and Japan. Her performances have been broadcast on WQXR (New York), WFMT (Chicago), WBJC (Baltimore), WCLV (Cleveland), and the LOOP (Chicago’s cable station). Ms. Tak has performed with numerous orchestras including the Juilliard Symphony, North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Filharmonia Pomorska (Poland), the Oltenia Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania), the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, the NEC Philharmonic, the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra and the Korean Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Jordan Hall, Ravinia Festival, Music@Menlo, the Myra Hess Concert Series, and in the Tongyeong and Busan International Music Festivals in Korea. Her many awards include top prizes in the San Antonio, Hilton Head, Missouri Southern, Corpus Christi, Valsesia-Musica, Ettlingen and Gyeongnam International Piano Competitions. Ms. Tak received her Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School and her Master’s degree from the New England Conservatory where she also earned her Graduate Diploma as a Presidential Scholar. Currently, Ms. Tak serves as an Assistant Professor of Piano at Southeastern University in Florida as she completes her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.
