La MaMa presents the World Premiere of “iyouuswe” by WHITE WAVE DANCE. With "iyouuswe (“I-You-Us-We”)," Young Soon Kim and her multifaceted team present a visually provocative, intimate piece that will challenge us to examine who we are, and how we relate to ourselves and each other. It's a story about developing meaningful relationships in which we struggle to seek a sense of ‘i’ as part of a ‘we.’
"iyiuuswe" is an ambitious collaboration reuniting Ms. Kim, and a ‘borderless musician’ Ki Young, dramaturgy James Leverett, and lighting designer YuriyNayer. Set to the dancers of White Wave, this piece will take their creative energies to new heights, transforming “iyouuswe” into a multi-dimensional ‘tour-de-force.’
These performances are part of the 12th La MaMa Moves! Dance Festival.
