The Dance Floor: K-Pop Dance Night Featuring DJ Gamma Vibes

Hit The Dance Floor on Friday nights at the Atrium, featuring hits from the most-loved musical genres of today!
The international sensation that is K-Pop has infiltrated and affected every level of contemporary music, from the Billboard charts to the Broadway stage. Now, in collaboration with the Lincoln Center, the unstoppable craze takes over Lincoln Center with a series of dance parties designed for both the hardcore fan and the K-Pop curious.
Each specially themed evening begins with a short movement tutorial, so bring a friend (or plan to meet someone new) and prepare to live out your K-Pop fantasies!
The April 8th dance party celebrates BTS, the seven-member juggernaut that has soared to global superstardom with energetic, hip-hop influenced #1 hits.
NYC's own K-Pop specialist DJ Gamma Vibes will play BTS' biggest singles and deepest cuts for a show that’s smooth like butter.
For this dance party, the dynamic duo choreographers Ari and Kianna will show you some easy-to-follow dance moves before getting your groove on!

◆ DJ Gamma Vibes

Gamma Vibes (Mihye Kim) is a New York based electronic producer, DJ, and Vibraphonist from Korea. Gamma Vibes had her first exposure to music when she started learning the piano at the age of five. She developed a passion for percussion at the age of fifteen and then became fascinated with playing Jazz Vibraphone. In 2011, she graduated from Berklee College of Music.
Gamma Vibes performed with Mika Stoltzman group as a vibraphonist in Boston and NYC including their sold-out recital at Carnegie Hall in 2012 and Rockport Music Festival in 2012. With Mika Soltzman group, Gamma Vibes has performed with such celebrated classical and jazz artists as two-time GRAMMY award winner Richard Stoltzman, two-time Latin GRAMMY award winner Eddie Gomez, legendary drummer Steve Gadd, and jazz Marimbist Mika Stoltzman.
Since Gamma Vibes relocated to NYC from Boston, she has become an electronic music artist, known for her deep techno and minimal jazz electronic music style. She has been a guest DJ at many of New York’s hottest clubs and parties.
Gamma Vibes is a journey of musical innovation. Using the rare electronic vibraphone paired with contemporary synthesis equipment, Gamma delivers organic originality to every performance.
◆ Choreographers Ari and Kianna
Twin dance duo, based in New York City, Ari and Kianna bring dazzling personality and sharp synchronization to every performance. With their passion for K-Pop, Ari and Kianna have placed 2nd place in the 2019 Cover Star K contest at NY KCON. They also appear as reactors on the YouTube channel ReacttotheK and perform in multiple New York K-Pop cover groups, such as Harmonyc Movement and Not Shy Dance Crew.
◆ The Sperm Whale
The Sperm Whale is a pod of artists and programmers based in NYC. They are known for their interactive projections and video installations. Originally a band, they decided to add whimsical visuals to their shows. They utilized their programming and animation backgrounds to create Orcha, their own custom VJing software. Since 2006, the group has held numerous NYC club residencies, and shown work at over a hundred venues and events around the globe. While they no longer make music, they continue to straddle the fine art and nightlife worlds with a colorful pop sensibility.
◆ Vaccinations, Boosters & Face Coverings
All guests will be required to provide proof that the final dose of their primary COVID-19 vaccination series was administered at least 14 days before entry. In addition, all guests eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster, under eligibility criteria recommended by the CDC , must present proof of receiving a COVID-19 booster.
Those not yet eligible for a booster, as determined by the CDC, will be allowed to enter with proof that they received the final dose of their primary COVID-19 vaccination series at least 14 days before entry. A two-week grace period beyond the date of eligibility will be granted for individuals to receive the booster shot. For greater detail, please click here.
Additionally, all guests are required to wear a face covering at all times except when actively eating or drinking.
At this time, children under 5 will not be admitted. We look forward to welcoming them as vaccination requirements allow.
