Mixing Korean traditional, classical, musical, jazz, hip hop and k-pop music with world class artists from participating Nations during and after the Korean War, this concert will not only commemorate the Our Heroes of the Korean War, but also showcase the talents of celebrated soloists.

JONG HOON BAE, artistic director & conductor

As a conductor, Korean American Jong Hoon Bae brings a wealth of musical experience to the podium. Maestro Bae has established himself as one of the most sought-after conductors of today, in Korea and abroad. He studied at Vienna Mukik Hochshule, St.Petersburg Conservatory, and graduated from UCLA in the USA with a masters and DMA in conducting. Since 2016 he has  served as the Founding Artistic Director and Conductor of Seocho Philharmonia, the resident orchestra of the Seocho Cultural Foundation. Maestro Bae has created a memorable presence as a conductor in opera productions and orchestral concerts at world-famous concert halls such as Royce Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and Berlin Philharmonic Hall in Berlin, Germany, as well as Musik Verein Golden Hall in Vienna, Austria. In 2010 and Carnegie Hall in New York in 2023.  Bae founded and served as music director and conductor of the Korean National Military Symphony, which belongs to the Ministry of National Defense of Korea. He recently started an unprecedented long-term project to record and perform live broadcasts of all 107 Haydn symphonies. The project is scheduled to be completed by 2025. Maestro Bae founded the ‘Korean War Memorial Concert’ and for 15 years (2009-2023) has served as artistic director and conductor throughout Korea and 22 UN Participating countries during the Korean War.
