Currently a Kovner Fellow at The Juilliard School, emerging clarinetist Joshua Choi performs his debut solo recital in Weill Recital Hall. He showcases his distinctive musical artistry through performances of Brahms, Poulenc, and more.

◆ Hamin Choi (Joshua Choi), Clarinet
Joshua Choi began studying clarinet at age 7. At 10, he was accepted to the Juilliard Pre-College Division and was taught by Mrs. Laura Flax, later studying with Mrs. Ayako Neidich. Currently a second-year undergraduate at The Juilliard School, Joshua is under the tutelage of Mr. Charles Neidich. He has had numerous appearances in competitions like the ICA Competition, Camerata Artists, and Caprio Young Artist. As Principal Clarinetist of the New York Youth Symphony, he contributed to a Grammy Award-winning album in 2022. He was recently invited to the International Clarinet Competition of Ghent and won the Aspen Music Festival Woodwind Concerto Competition. Joshua is a proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship at Juilliard.
