America Beautiful is a one-of-a-kind performance that pays homage to the beauty, resilience, and generosity of this nation through the powerful mediums of music and photography.
Renowned pianist Min Kwon will introduce selections from her groundbreaking and widely acclaimed project, America/Beautiful, for which the Center for Musical Excellence (CME) commissioned 76 living American composers—America’s most distinguished voices in contemporary music—to create new solo piano variations on America the Beautiful.
Accompanying this extraordinary musical experience, Joon Park’s evocative black-and-white photography will be projected on a grand scale, capturing the breathtaking landscapes of the United States. The synchronization of live music with these stunning images creates an immersive performance that magnifies the themes of gratitude, harmony, and resilience.
Joining this special afternoon, soprano Kate Kyunghee Kim will offer a powerful vocal interpretation, and curator Iris Moon will guide the artistic vision behind the event.
